Tiger on the loose in Ireland
The four compass Points 4th to 8th September 2019.
W Bro Brian Phillips P.Prov.GSwdB of Weatheroak Lodge 7214 has been let loose again on his Triumph Tiger to raise funds for the SoLo Life opportunities Charity No 1102297. Brian visited the 4 compass points of Ireland Cork, Galway, Londonderry, and Dublin over 5 days covering in excess of 1250 miles. The whole trip fully funded by W Bro Brian.
Day 3 Was another opportunityto get some good miles in to allow a easy last day to Rosslare.Leaving on a cold damp morning, the wind straight off the Atlantic, trees and hedges at 45 degrees. Straight up the N15 toLondonderry North (3rd compass point). Now on to the A5 to Lifford, Newtownstrewar and on to Omagh.Local roads around Omagh and Derry are well supported by Union Jacks and flags of St George, contiuing onwards towards Dublin passing through Monagan, Castleblayney, Carrickmacross, Ardee onto the M50 to Dublin East the final compass point. Having arrived during the rush hour Brian decided to press on for a while to Ardlow next to the river Avonmore in Co Wicklow. Staying at the Bridge Hotel, I’ll just say a good time was had by all!!!
Day 4 Was almost a rest day, having made two extensive days riding he could now spend some time riding to his final overnight stay in Rosslare. On checking his map and finding Killmore Quay which looked worth a visit and only 20 mile detour, the sun came out and a pleasant couple of hours rest were very welcome
Day 5 And homeward bound, after a good night’s rest an early start to catchThe 8.45 crossing, which was excellent, calm sunny day. Arriving home at17.50
