Provincial Grand Lodge Meeting 2019

Chateau Impney, Droitwich

· News articles

A new venue, a very special guest and a huge audience combined to make Worcestershire Provincial Grand Lodge's 2019 meeting a very special event indeed.

The Provincial Grand Master, R W Bro Robert C. Vaughan, was delighted to welcome the Pro Grand Master, Peter Lowndes, on his first ever visit to Provincial Grand Lodge. When the Pro Grand Master rose to his feet to address the brethren he promised not to "...speak for too long and bore the audience."

"I'll leave that to the Provincial Grand Master...." he quipped!

The Pro Grand Master and the Provincial Grand Master

Two Assistant Provincial Grand Masters, W Bros Keith Evans and Michael D Cox, stepped down from their posts and were warmly thanked by the PGM for their respective years of service to the province. Their successors, W Bros John Crowther and Michael Dykes, were appointed and invested in impeccable style by the PGM.

W Bro Peter Curran was presented with a Provincial Grand Master's Certificate of Merit for his many decades of service to the lodges meeting at Kings Heath.

Two new Provincial Wardens were appointed - W Bros David Emery and Bernard Callow - and the Provincial Grand Master paid tribute to their predecessors, W Bros Chris Vendy and Mark Lodge respectively. More than 170 other appointments and promotions were then bestowed on various brethren present and a total of around 700 brethren attended the meeting. "What a magnificent sight" was the PGM's first comment on reaching the stage!
