We have full social calendar, including: a Ladies' Evening in the Autumn; a Christmas Informal; Preceptors' Lunch in Spring; Beer and Skittles Evening; and, a "Steam Day" - two of our members of are members of the Birmingham Society of Model Engineers, constructing scale working models of Steam Locomotives, a lovely family Summer day out, riding the trains 'for kids all ages'.
These social functions are very enjoyable but also importantly, raise monies for local Charities, for examples: local Hospices and 'LifeLites' which supports Children' Hospices; the QE Hospital, 'Cyber Knife' for the use in the precise targeted treatment of cancer (£2,000); the local Community Youth Project; and, raised £2,000+ for The Midland Air Ambulance.
